About

Octavian Taborsky is a composer, arranger, and conductor from Romania, currently based in the Netherlands. He leads Orchestravian, a 14-piece ensemble that blends modern jazz with electronic music and Romanian folk influences.

Octavian began his career as a producer and DJ, known as Taborsky, focusing on Rominimal and Breakbeat. His desire to deepen his understanding of music led him to study jazz composition, arranging, and conducting at the Maastricht Conservatory under the guidance of Jesse Passenier, Wolfgang Braun, Leon Lhoest, and Sven Heinze.

His background in electronic music informs his unique approach to jazz, creating a fusion of modern jazz harmonies with electronic grooves. Octavian's work aims to bridge the worlds of jazz and underground electronic music, offering a fresh perspective on contemporary sound.
